Child
Hello! Please receive special regards from Guatemala City in the beautiful name of Jesus. Before telling you about my life, I want to express my gratitude to LW-Adopt A Child and all the supporters for blessing my family and me. My full name is Sonia Emely Yat Esquit, and I have attended the feeding program for about twelve years. Learning about Jesus is what I like the most during the bible classes. I usually attend them before having my meals. I am a healthy 15-year-old girl, and I attend school as a seventh grade student. My favorite weather is cold because I enjoy drinking chocolate. I live with my mother, sisters, and grandmother. I usually help to do the tasks related to the kitchen. My mother is a single parent and works hard by running errands and cleaning houses for others. She does her best to provide education, food, and other essentials to my siblings and me, but it has been challenging because she does not earn much and does not have a stable job.
Besides that, we have not been well emotionally after my grandfather’s death. He passed away a few months ago. Today, my mother is the one who takes care of my grandmother and covers her needs since she is already an elderly woman. Therefore, I kindly ask you to pray for material, but especially our emotional well-being. We are members of a Christian Church called House of Prayer. The sermons are good and touching; that is one of our motivations to keep going there. Brother Juan Carlos (a member of the LW staff) recently shared the gospel and encouraged us to keep going. That was a blessed time that my whole family and I appreciate so much. We pray that God blesses you and all those who make it possible for LW to continue providing spiritual support to those who need it the most. Until next time!
With much love,
Sonia Emely Yat Esquit
