My Story

Hello! My name is Cristhian Alexander, and I am so excited to share a little bit about my life with you through this letter. I live with my brother and adoptive parents. We attend a Christian Church called Tree of Justice. We usually attend services on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. By God’s grace, we are all in good health. My adoptive father works hard to support our family. His name is Juan Garcia, and he is 57 years old. He does carpentry work at home. He also works for other people by doing whatever they ask him to get an extra income. My adoptive mom keeps busy doing the chores and watching over my brother and me. Her name is Ana Maria Gonzalez, and she is 63 years old. I am grateful because my adoptive parents love us as their own children. They strive a lot to give us all we need, although it has not been easy for them. Sadly, my biological mother is not in touch with us and does not help us economically either. Some of our greatest needs are groceries.

I am 14 years old, and I attend school as a seventh grader. I prefer to receive face-to-face classes instead of online because the teacher can help me to resolve doubts. Because of the pandemic, I worked on schoolwork at home. I had a lot of doubts, but my parents could not help me to clarify them. When I grow up, I would like to help people as a nurse. I enjoy holidays, especially when the year is ending. What I like the most is burning firecrackers. My favorite beverages are Coca-Cola and lemonade. I would love to speak another language like English. I hope to do it someday. There are many things that I enjoy doing on my birthday, but what I love the most is having a delicious cake to celebrate with my family. I like sports, but my favorite is soccer. To end this letter, I want you to know that we are deeply grateful to LW because we have received groceries, medical and dental care, and many blessings, especially in the most challenging moments. My father ran out of work during the pandemic, but we could see God’s fidelity through the project and the staff. I will leave you now, but if you want to hear something else about me, feel free to ask me.

Kind regards,

Cristhian Alexander Vanegas Martinez
