Hello dearest sponsor! It is a pleasure to greet you hoping that you are doing well. My name is Wendy Paola Medio Mendez, and I am eleven years old. I have seven siblings. My mother and father live with me. My mother works by selling fish and helps support the family economically; my father works as a street-sweeper for the municipality and helps support the family economically. To spend time together as a family, we have conversations together daily during dinnertime. For Christmas last year, we celebrated it at home making tamales. I live in a humble home in Duenas. My house is located about a 10-minute walk from the feeding program. The house we live in belongs to a nursery plant that we help guard. There are two rooms and a separate kitchen. The house is made of wood, the roof is made of tin sheet, and the floor is made of concrete. We have running water and electricity in our home. The house is in poor condition because the tin sheets that make up the roof are damaged. Thank God my whole family is healthy. The pandemic has affected our economy because for a time my parents lost their jobs and we lived through a difficult time. I am in fifth grade this year. To learn the material, my mother goes to my school to pick up study guides every 15 days. I have struggled to learn using this method since I do not understand the study guides. I have internet access using data from a cellphone. During my free time, I help my mother with the house chores. I attend Nazarene Church which is located 20 minutes away from my house. We were sad when the church closed due to the pandemic because we missed having fellowship with the congregation. What I miss most from the feeding center are the Bible classes. Our greatest needs are new clothes and economic stability. I say goodbye to you for now hoping God takes care of you and pours out many blessings upon you!
The evangelism team is speaking to families in Duenas by appointment. They spoke to my mother to receive this information.
With lots of love,
Wendy Paola Medio Mendez
