My Story

Hello! I am so happy because I know you are taking some minutes of your time to learn a little about my life. In advance, thank you so much! My full name is Maria Karina Gutierrez Garcia, and I am 14 years old. I made a good friend some years ago. Her name is Amelia, and we usually meet to talk. I keep busy helping my mother to do the chores. I dropped out of school many years ago. At the beginning, I did not consider how important it was for my future, but when I did, my parents told me that they did not have enough financial resources to afford my education. That impacted me a lot, but God helped me to understand my parents.

I want you to know that I identify with my mother the most because we have confidence in each other. She is dedicated to weaving typical items like shawls and bed sheets to help my father with the expenses. My father makes a living by making clay tiles in our village. We stopped attending church a while ago, so a member of the LW staff shared a verse from the bible with my mother and me. He also encouraged us to seek Jesus again because He is God’s son and our Lord. I hope we can follow the advice, so please pray for us. To end this letter, I want you to know that my mother and I were glad to share all this information just for you.
