My Story

Hello! It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of Jesus and I hope you are doing fine. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. First of all, my family and I are grateful to Living Water because I receive medical and dental attention in the clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. At the moment, we are attending Spring Life Church every Wednesday. As a family, we are grateful to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with us and for their encouraging words during the visit. My mother`s name is Estela Benito Garcia. She is 43 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home. In addition, she raises hens and turkeys at home. My father´s name is Santos Ortiz Gutierrez. He is 47 years old. Currently, he continues working as a farmer. Moreover, he grows corn and black beans for our family`s consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are groceries and corn. Thankfully, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Alvaro Esteban Ortiz Benito, and I am 13 years old. This year, I am in 6^th grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot by going to school. At the moment, my father is making an effort to support my brother and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that he does not have a stable job. In the future, I want to become a day laborer. Easter is my favorite celebration of the year because our custom is to eat bread and honey with my family. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language. I like to drink lemonade. I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of money. Among sports, football is my favorite. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child in December.
