My Story

Hello! My name is Manuel Golemi. I am 11 years old, and my birthday is in December 2nd. I am doing well and my health is good. My favorite color is blue, and my future dream is to study and become a medical doctor. I have had this dream chosen the same, since last year, when I was asked by the team of Adopt a Child for my updated information. I go to school in fifth grade and enjoy the time that I spend there learning and after the lessons, playing with my classmates and other friends from school. the subject I like studying the best at school is English. After school, my friends and I do a bit of walking to return to our houses and have games on the way and very nice conversations and a lot of fun. The weather at present is sunny and the days longer. I meet again to play with my friends after lunch and my favorite game is football. We play this game also while we attend the activities of the program. My younger brother is six years old. He is still in preschool. I like to play with him, and care for him, especially when my mother gets busy cleaning, cooking or working in the garden. I spend a few hours studying the schoolbooks and afterwards, I spend again some time reading to my younger brother some books with illustrations we got for him or make drawings that he can color. I live in a village of the community of Prrenjas. We go to this town every weekend, when they have the open market day and buy groceries and other stuff needed, because not all we need is available to buy in the shop of the village. Our house in the village is in good condition. My family consists of four members who are my parents, brother and I. My mother started to plant the vegetables in the garden and now, she and my father are busy watering them till they grow and are ready for consumption. My father has also cared for the trees we have around our land and we hope the weather stays nice so that they will bear fruit and be productive. Farming is not giving profit to deal with, therefore my father goes and works in construction, wherever he has a possibility of being hired, in the town, or doing repairs in the house. Last year he worked in Northern Macedonia for a season, but this year, he is not yet hired there, and we are even more challenged in our family finances. My brother and I attend twice a week the program and we receive every two months food packages. Thank you for the food you provide for us. We go to the Bible classes of the church regularly and are happy to learn about the love of the Lord for us. Thank you for our hearts for the physical and spiritual help you give to us and to our family. God bless you!
