My Story

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read my update. This is Angel, and it is a blessing to share my last news with you. The only person who I live with is my father. We are members of a Christian Church called the People of God. We usually attend our services on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. We praise God because of his mercy and grace. Proof of that, I am part of the feeding program. A member of the LW staff spoke with my father to collect this information for you. My father took advantage of the moment to express his gratitude to you and many other good-hearted people through the staff for loving and blessing us. My father is Carlos Alvarado, and his age is 64 years old. Unfortunately, he is not able to work because he had a stroke about seven years ago. That event affected his mobility from his face to his foot on his right side. Nowadays, he can move a little bit more thanks to the fidelity of the Lord. He uses a cane and takes medicines to treat his high blood pressure and heart issues. At the moment, his health condition is stable. Thankfully, we count on the economic support of my older brothers. They already established a life in Mexico since they have their own families.

Our resources are lower, so it has not been easy to cover our needs. Our priorities are food, shoes, and school support. My biggest dream is to become an engineer and speak English when I am older. Therefore, I am striving a lot at school as an eighth grader. I like the face-to-face classes because there are more hours to receive explanations and those help me to understand the lessons so much better. When I need to buy school supplies, I use some money that I earn by doing different tasks. I usually carry packages for some neighbors or work as a mason’s helper. My favorite time of the year is Holy Week because I can work and rest. I like drinking Coca-Cola and natural drinks. Celebrating birthdays at home is very special. When it is mine, my father and I praise the Almighty for another year of life, and if our resources are enough, we buy a delicious cake. Thank you so much for reading my news! I leave you now, but I wish you the best blessing.

In the name of Jesus,

Angel Aaron Alvarado Garcia
