My Story

Hello! Sponsors, how are you? I hope you are blessed by our Lord Jesus and enjoying a beautiful day. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. First of all, my family and I are grateful to you and to Living Water because thanks to your support I receive medical and dental attention in the clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. I want to let you know that we do not attend any Church. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who shared the Gospel with us and for their encouraging words to us during the visit. My mother`s name is Dominga De La Cruz. She is 37 years old. Unfortunately, she married my stepfather, and she went to live far away from us. So, I decided to live with my grandmother, and she takes care of me. My grandmother`s name is Tomasa Mendez Mendez.  She is 58 years old. Currently, she grows cabbages, coriander, radishes, cauliflowers, and some herbs to sell and get some income in order to support me. In addition, she raises hens, pigs, and sheep to sell. We grow corn for our family´s consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are groceries, corn and groceries. Thank God, my family and I are doing fine.

My name is Lucrecia Paola De La Cruz De La Cruz, and I am 9 years old. Unfortunately, this year I am repeating 1^st grade at school again. I receive face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot with this study method. I hope to pass the grade with God´s help. Thank God, my grandmother is making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that she does not have a stable job. In the future, I want to become a cattle rancher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. Christmas is my favorite celebration of the year because I like to receive the Christmas gift that you sent through the LW Feeding Center. I like to drink pineapple juice. What I like to do for my birthday is to sing a song called “Happy Birthday to You”.  Among sports, I like marathons. Thank you for everything you have done for me. I hope you like to read my letter. May God reward you in every area of your life!
