I am Karla Jimena, and this year I turn 11 years old. I live along with my family. I attend 5th grade, and I am receiving face-to-face classes three hours once a week at school. I give my homework to my teacher when I go to school. It has been very difficult for me to learn in a short time since it is very complicated to understand the lessons and do my homework. In addition, my teacher sends or asks for homework by WhatsApp, but I do not have this tool so it affects my score. My mother does the chores at home, and she tries to contribute with the income by raising and selling hens. My father works as a day laborer. He does not have a stable job, and sometimes, he works only two or three days per week.
I want to tell you that the covid-19 pandemic affected my family´s economy due to lack of work in our village. My father could not travel to go to work to other places since transportation is expensive and it makes things harder economically at home. Thanks to God´s faithfulness, we have been surviving thanks to the support that we receive from my school and the feeding program. We appreciate the grocery bags that Living Water / Adopt A Child has been providing for us because my father is not earning enough resources to supply our needs. My father wants to give thanks to you for all the support that I receive from you through LW. I am so blessed to receive medical attention in the clinics and food. Thank you very much. My family and I are healthy, and covid-19 has not affected us so far, thanks to God. We attend Rock of Salvation Church on Monday and Friday. I want to let you know that an evangelism teacher of LW called my father, Pedro Canil by phone to get this updated information since the feeding program is still closed due to the pandemic. I send many hugs and many blessings!
Lots of love,
Karla Jimena Canil Garcia
