My Story

This is Joshwar Osvaldo Gomez Yucute, and I am glad to greet you affectionately through this. I am fourteen years old. I am repeating 7th grade and taking face-to-face classes at school one day a week. I send my schoolwork every two months. Understanding instructions turned difficult to me. I wasted my time on it. It is not the same! The thing I missed a lot from the feeding program was, the tasty food and spending time with other children. For me to get there, it takes fifteen minutes by walking. Mid 2021 I went to live with an aunt of mine, because my school and the feeding program are located closer than the place I lived in before. Previously, I was living at Lourdes 1 with an uncle of mine who was in charge of me due to my parents’ passing time ago. To earn a living, my aunt sells underwear and food. Thanks to it, she provides for our household expenses. I like dinnertime, because it’s the time I can talk and have a nice time with my aunt.

We did celebrate Christmas by making special dinner and eating tamales and fruit punch which was all delicious. At the moment, a group from God’s Family Church is visiting us at home for us to seek and pray God. My aunt’s house is made of one room, made of cement block, tin sheet roof and concrete floor. It has separate kitchen. It does not have electricity, so a neighbor of us, provides it to us. We do not have running water, so we get it from an outdoors public water source. Let me tell you that pandemic did affect us. My aunt lost her father, who was my maternal grandfather. There was less work and getting food turned difficult to us. That’s why, I take this time to thank to the feeding program for the grocery bags we received in difficult time. As food supplies is a greatest need for us, it was all a great help at home. Now, I want to ask you to please pray for us to not have lack of money to pay the house’s services. Thank you very much for your prayers. Thankfully, I am doing well for now. Finally, I want you to know, my aunt gave this information in person to an Evangelism team member who visited us, to share with you my last news. I say good bye to you for now. Take care!

Kind regards,

Joshwar Osvaldo Gomez Yucute
