My Story

I greet you affectionately through this and I hope you are fine! Praise the Lord my family and I attend Assembly of God Church; we go on Tuesdays and Fridays. We believe in God and trust our salvation in Him. My family and I are healthy, thank God. My father is Tomas Us Chingo, and he is 53 years old. He is employed as both a farmer and a day laborer; he does his best to supply our needs. My mother is Hermelinda Morente Mendez, and she is 51 years old. She tries to contribute to the income by weaving and selling typical blankets. Furthermore, she raises hens and sheep. We also grow corn for the family's consumption.

I am Roxana Esperanza Us Morente, and I am a 12-year-old girl. I am a fourth-grade student; I receive classes at school, and I like this so much. Supporting me at school is hard for my parents because they do not earn much, and now prices have increased. I like New Year; it is exciting for me to start the year. I want to tell you that my favorite drink is aloe vera juice. Playing football is so much fun; it is my favorite sport. My native language is K'iche´ Mayan dialect, and I can speak a little Spanish, but I would like to improve it so that I can communicate better with other people. I get so happy when my birthday comes, and my family buys a cake to celebrate with me and I love it. Being part of Living Water has blessed my life because I receive tasty meals and medical care in the clinics which is so helpful for me and my family. At home, the top priorities are groceries and corn. So long. May God bless you greatly!

Best wishes,

Roxana Esperanza Us Morente
