My Story

Wonderful day to you! This is Luisa Brenda Vanesa Mendez Castro, and I am already 16 years old. Thank God, my family and I are in good health. My family and I attend Prince of Peace Church and go on Monday. We appreciate the encouraging words from LW staff to continue attending church; we trust our Salvation in Jesus Christ. My father is Basilio, and he is 46 years old. He is a merchant and sells veggies in the local plaza all days of the week. My mother is Maria, and she is 36 years old. Like my father, she also is a merchant and helps him with the selling. We grow corn for selling and get income. In addition, we raise hens and pigs, and we sell them if we have some need.

This year I am not at school because I did not want to study. Last year, I finished 6^th grade. Nevertheless, I would like to be a nurse, so I have to return to school, but I am not sure about it for now. At the moment, I help my parents by selling veggies in the plaza. The beverages I like the most are fruit juices; those are delicious. On my birthday, I like my family to celebrate it; it is so special for me. Something I enjoy so much is the town´s fair because of the fairground and the mechanical games. We are a humble family, and the greatest need in the home is food. To be part of the feeding program is a great blessing for me because I enjoy the meals when I go; thank you for your support through Living Water. I say goodbye to you for now. May God bless you!
