My Story

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read my information. My name is Silvia Eliza and I greet you fondly, wishing many blessings and success for you. My family and I do not attend any church at the moment, but I hope to do it soon. I am grateful to LW because a teacher of the evangelism team shared the gospel with me. As for health, let me tell you that my family and I are doing well. My father’s name is Adan Riz and he is 38 years old. He makes a living as a farmer and day laborer. Besides that, he grows corn for our consumption. My mother also works hard by weaving typical clothes to help my father economically. Her name is Juana Coj and she is 35 years old. We need so much help at home, but our priorities are groceries. Therefore, we raise pigs, sheep, and hens and occasionally sell them.

I am fifteen years old and I stopped to attend school some years ago because of a lack of money. Nowadays, I help my mother to do the household chores. I would love to become as a good weaver as my mother. My favorite season is rainy because it helps our crops a lot. I love drinking pineapple juice and my favorite sport is soccer. Besides speaking the K’iche dialect, I would love to improve my Spanish. I hope to accomplish it someday. I had my birthday in April, but I did not celebrate it because of a lack of resources. To end this letter, I want you to know that LW is a meaningful project for my family and me. We are grateful for the tasty food that my sister and I can receive there. Besides that, let me tell you that I gave all this information to an AAC member to update you. I say goodbye to you now, but I hope you find this letter engaging. See you later!

Kind regards,

Silvia Eliza Riz Coj
