My Story

I greet you in the name of Jesus hoping you are doing great. We thank the LW staff because they shared the gospel and gave us encouraging words to seek God and look for a church to go to. At the moment, we are not attending church because my stepfather does not allow us. We pray that my stepfather changes his mind and can attend church with us someday. Thankfully, I am healthy and so is my family. My biological father abandoned me, and I do not know anything about him. My mother is Sandra Jimon, and she is 29 years old. She is a housewife and raises hens and pigs. She also goes to sell herbs in Zacualpa´s market to contribute to the income. My stepfather is Diego Ruiz Gutierrez, and he is 40 years old. He works by farming the land in our village, and he is covering the home expenses. We grow corn for our consumption, and we also harvest bananas and mangoes.

I am Wilson Alexander De La Cruz Jimon, and I am a 15-year-old boy. This year I am repeating 7th grade; my classes are at school, and it is better to comprehend the lessons in this way. The school expenses are high, but my mother is doing her best to support me. The teaching profession catches my attention, and I would like to study for it. The language I would like to learn is English; it is so interesting. The climate I prefer is summer because I go to play outside with my friends. Moreover, I like the Independence activities that we have at school and in my village. I like drinking strawberry juice, and it is my favorite beverage. I like to play football in my free time; it is the sport I like the most. On my birthday, I love spending time with my siblings. Being part of the feeding program is a great blessing for me since I receive a tasty meal and dental and medical attention which is a big help for me and my siblings. As a family, our greatest needs are shoes and clothes. I hope that you like my letter. May God bless you!

Kind regards,

Wilson Alexander De La Cruz Jimon
