My Story

Dear Sponsors,

Before anything else I would like to express to you my gratitude for being my sponsors and blessing me through Living Water. I walk for fifteen minutes to arrive to the feeding program. I am Celia Eluvia but everybody affectionately calls me Celia. I am 17 years old and I had my birthday in January. I take classes in my village and I am an eighth-grade student. My school is about thirty minutes away from my home by microbus. I love Plastic Arts but Mathematics is a little difficult for me. For now I am doing homework that my teacher is sending me through Whatsapp. Then I have to send it by the same way. I help my mother at home and I embroider napkins. I like to watch TV in my free time. Other times I go to spend time with my grandmother and I help her tend a store that she is in charge of.

The people who live in the house are my mother, a brother and me. My mother´s duties are doing the housework and raising hens for selling. Moreover, she works weaving typical clothes for selling but due to the pandemic the sales are not really good. My father´s job consists of washing dishes and doing the cleaning in a restaurant. He is in the United States and fortunately, he is sending us economic support. My family and I are members of Christian Church. I am grateful to God because we all are in good health. In spite of the hard health situation that we are currently facing in our country, our Lord has been taking care of us. We are praying for your family and for all the world. We trust in our Lord's mercy and that He will put His healing hands over all people who are suffering during this pandemic. I would like to receive a letter from you and have the opportunity to share our life experiences with each other.

Thinking of you!

A-A-C NOTE: After the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in our country (March 13, 2020), our President ordered the closure of all the schools in order to prevent children becoming affected by this virus. We do not know when the schools will open again. However, most of the schools are assigning homework to their students to cover the content for the current school year. As a team, we are praying that God takes control of this situation soon so that we may continue on with our lives.
