My Story

Hello! My name is Leonel Pura. I am happy to tell you about myself and my family while the team of Adopt a Child is asking me to fill the update formular. I am 13 years old and my birthday is on January. I am doing well and in good health. My favorite color is red and my future dream is to become police. I finished seventh grade secondary school on June. At present the schools are closed for the summer break. I enjoy school and learning and my favorite subject is Albanian Language. I will spend the summer in the village playing during the mornings football with my friends. Summers are busy for us who live in the village therefore I am also going to help my mother and father while they are working in the land and care for our animals. usually my friends and I meet to play during the mornings and we meet again during the evenings to have a walk in the center of the village so we can spend time chatting and fellowshipping. I live in a village and our nearest town is Pogradec. We go to this town every time we need to go to the clinic or hospitals as well as to receive other services that we need from the community. We also go often to the town when we need to shop and buy things that we are not able to buy in the village. I have five members in my family who are my grandparents, parents, an older brother and a younger brother. My older brother is matured and he is trying to work along with my parents to help as well as work elsewhere if offered a job. My younger brother goes to primary school and is also registered in the sponsorship program. My family owns land in the village and we plant quite a whole lot because we need to provide food for our animals. My father keeps a cow as well as several goats so that we can benefit from raising these animals. He is also hired by the people of the village to shepherd their flocks. My mother has also planted vegetables in the garden we have close to our house. We have fruit trees around our land and after picking up the fruits, my mother dries or boils them to be used as fruit juice. My grandparents are both retired from their jobs in agriculture and they deliver their pension to my parents who cover all their living costs. They are quite a big help in the family while they are also helping us feed the animals. Our house offers good living conditions to us, even that is a small village house. We live with whatever is benefited by farming and our animals and we are financially challenged. I frequent the program regularly. I enjoy learning about the Lord and receiving spiritual education as well as physical care. I receive constantly food packages that are provided for each child frequenting the program and the church of Adopt a Child. Thank you from my heart for your support and care. God bless you!
