My Story

Hello! My name is Ertis Seiti. I am 15 years old, and my birthday is on May. My family and I are doing pretty good health wise. Which is a blessing.  My favorite color is red, I love the vibrance and brightness it adds to everything. My dream for the future is to become a footballer. Because I really enjoy playing sports. When I grow up, I want to get a driving license and have my own car. I am in the tenth grade and spend my mornings and afternoons at school where I enjoy learning. I especially love to learn more about Physical Education, because it is my favorite subject. I find Physical Education very interesting, and because I love sports and like to spend time playing football. During the rest of my day and weekends, I sometimes meet my friends who live nearby, and we spend a few hours hanging out together. Sometimes we play at the school field, but most of the time, we play on the road. The time that I get to spend with my friends is really special to me and we always have so much fun together. I live in a village that belongs to the community of Pogradec. We go in this town each time we have a need to go there, like shop, do visits in hospitals, get community services from the town offices, etc. My family consists of five members. My father, mother, brother, sister, and me. My brother is older than me, and my sister is younger. My father and mother work on the land we own, planting crops and vegetables. Sometimes my father goes to the mountains with the horse to collect wood for the winter. When my father was working abroad, and was not able to go to the mountains, my older brother would take his place and collect the wood instead. My father works abroad for four to five months each year, depending on the job he finds. Sometimes he works in construction and sometimes in agriculture. My mother has planted a vegetable garden near our house and also grows some fruit trees. Once it gets colder we take the fruit and vegetables that we collected and we preserve the extra fruits and vegetables so we can have food for the winter. We consume what we grow, which helps us avoid buying them from the market. We are very thankful to the Adopt a Child program for the help we receive both spiritually and physically. Through the program we receive food packages, and we have Bible classes that offer educational classes and church activities, as well as bible studies.
