My Story

Hello! My name is Kristina Kolgega. I am 17 years old and my birthday is on October. I am doing well and in good health. My favorite color is black, and my future dream is to study and become a finance manager. I started in September the third grade of high school. The first days of school were very exciting for me because I met again with my teachers and classmates. I like to learn well at school and my favorite subject I like to study the best is Mathematics. This is the last year of high school and I will get graduated and can apply for further studies. When I return home from school, I start with cleaning the house, doing some cooking and whatever else that the housekeeping includes. This way, I help my family with all that I can offer. I like to get together with my friends and spend time fellowshipping with them. When we gather we have walks and nice conversations. I spend a couple of hours studying to go prepared for school. While I study, I also help my younger sisters when they have questions about their school homework. I spend the rest of the day checking the social networks and using our family mobile phone to do that. I live with my family in a village that belongs to the community of Pogradec. The town is one hour drive away from our village and we travel to go there, whenever we need to do shopping, take official documents, get visits from the specialist doctors at the hospital, etc. I have six members in my family and our house offers good living conditions to us. I have my father, mother and three sisters who are 13, 12 and 3 years old. Two of them are frequenting school and the youngest one is going to kindergarten. All my sisters are registered in the sponsorship program. My parents own land in the village and deal a bit with farming, since agriculture is beneficial to us. My parents have planted in the field whatever is needed for our cow as food for consumption. My parents raise the cow, so we benefit milk and diary for consumption in the family. My father can also sell the calves and gain a bit more of income which is used to cover our basic needs. My father besides dealing with agriculture is also emigrating in Greece for three months every year. He has a job in construction. The amount he receives working outside of the country is better than whatever he gains doing the same job in the village. We miss him very much during the time he is not in our home with us, but we are thankful that he has this job to provide for us and cover our needs. My mother plants vegetables for consumption in the garden we have close to our house. At present, she is collecting fruits and makes jam or juice fruit so that we consume products like these during the winter. We are living in poverty because my father has been working in emigration only three months. I am very thankful to the sponsorship program for the spiritual and physical help they are offering to me. I like to go regularly at the Bible classes of the program where we learn about the Lord. I am also happy that I receive food packages constantly as help for my family and me. God bless you richly for all the care and support you give to me.
