My Story

I am Carlos Eduardo, and I am excited to say hello to you through this letter. Before telling you about my life, I want you to know that a teacher from LW spoke with me to collect all my last news for you. My family and I attend King of the Centuries Church on Mondays and Thursdays. Fortunately, we are all healthy. My mother, Aquilina Simaj, is 53 years old. She does her best to support our family by raising hens to sell. She also grows corn for our consumption; my brother, Carlos, and I help her. We are a needy family. Our priorities are cleaning supplies and groceries like rice, spaghetti, and beans. I want to use this opportunity to thank you so much for loving and supporting me through the feeding program. This project has been a great blessing for my family and me.

I am in fourth grade this year. I agree to receive face-to-face classes because I learn much better. Unfortunately, my mother does not earn enough to pay all the bills and cover my school supplies. Since my father passed away, it has been hard for her. Therefore, I would like to count on your prayers for my family, especially for my mom. I would love to make a living at the coast when I am older. I also would love to speak a new language like English. My favorite holiday is Christmas because of the birth of Jesus Christ. I love drinking atol de masa (it is a typical hot beverage made of corn dough, sugar, cinnamon, and water). There are many sports, but soccer is the best, so I love it. I will have my thirteenth birthday in October, but my family and I will not celebrate it. We do not have the custom of doing it due to our lack of money. I say goodbye to you for now, but I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,

Carlos Eduardo Simaj Simaj
