My Story

Hello! How are you? It is a great opportunity for me to greet you through this letter. I am David, and I want to start this by telling you about my family. We are assured of our salvation, and we attend the Catholic Church on Monday and Thursday. Our economic situation is not so good, so we are frequently in need of groceries and corn. We grow corn and black beans for our consumption but it is not enough for the whole year. We raise hens and pigs at home, and we sell them when we need money. My parents are in good health. My father’s name is Esteban, and he is 45 years old. He works as a farmer and day laborer, and he also plays the bass. My mother’s name is Hermenegilda, and she is 43 years old. She works hard at home and sometimes does the laundry of others to help with the income.

My full name is David Jeremias Tzoy Gomez. I am 12 years old, and I am in 5^th grade. I am learning more now that I am attending school in person. Fortunately, school expenses are not so expensive in my village. I want to become a truck driver when I am older. I enjoy my birthday because I share a delicious lunch with my family. I love Christmas because it is a time to eat the traditional “tamales and ponche”. I have to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. My favorite drink is Coca-Cola, and I prefer soccer as a sport. I am in good health. Living Water provides us different benefits, and my family and I are grateful for that. I pray God blesses and takes care of you.
