My Story

My name is Esperanza, and I am happy to greet you through this means. I hope everything is running well in your life. Let me tell you that my family and I attend Life Christian Church on Tuesdays and Saturdays. By God’s grace, none of us has gotten sick so far. My father, Lorenzo Mucia, is 54 years old. He supports our family by growing and selling corn, onions, and tomatoes. My mom also works hard to help with her income at home. Her name is Jacinta Guarcas, and she is 48 years old. She is a busy housewife who raises hens and sheep to sell. We need many groceries at home, especially corn and typical atoles like mosh or Incaparina. Thankfully, I can attend the feeding program. My family and I are grateful to LW for helping and blessing me with delicious lunches.

I am nineteen years old. I use my free time to help my mother with the chores. I also help to feed our domestic animals. I would love to learn how to plant vegetables to sell and get my own income. Besides that, I would love to speak a new language like English. I hope to accomplish my dreams someday. Christmas is the best holiday for me because it is a cheerful time. My mother and I usually prepare tasty tamales to celebrate with our family. My favorite drink is atol de masa (it is a typical hot beverage made of corn dough, cinnamon, sugar, and water). My birthday will be in November. However, I will not celebrate it due to a lack of economic resources. My favorite sport is soccer because it is the most popular in my country. This is all for now, but before saying goodbye to you, I want you to know that a teacher from LW spoke with me to collect all my news for you. I hope you find it engaging. See you later!

Many special regards,

Esperanza Mucia Guarcas
