My Story

This is Elias Benito Alvarez, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. We are still members of Prince of Peace Church, and we attend the Monday’s service. We have accepted Jesus as our personal Savior. We raise hens for selling, and we grow corn and black beans for our consumption. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries, corn and soap. My father’s name is Celso. He is 47 years old, and he is in good health. He works as a farmer and day laborer five or six days per week. My mother’s name is Lorenza. She is 44 years old, and she is in good health too. She works hard at home and looks after our domestic animals.

Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 16 years old, and I am healthy. I am in 6th grade, and I learn more now that I am attending school in person. My father does not have a stable job so it has been difficult for him to support me with my studies. I want to become a good day laborer when I am older. I also would like to learn English language. My favorite celebration is Christmas because we prepare “tamales and ponche”. We do not have the custom to celebrate our birthdays due to our low resources. I prefer soccer as sport, and I love drinking sodas. Living Water is very important in my life, and I am grateful for the delicious food received. I say goodbye to you for now hoping to have news from you soon.

With much love

Elias Benito Alvarez
