My Story

My name is Brenda, and I am glad to share my last news with you. I hope you find this letter engaging. I attend a Christian Church called Prince of Peace. My family and I usually attend our services once weekly. I am sure the Lord is my Savior because He has given me a lot of reasons to love and trust in him. A member of the LW Evangelism team encouraged me to get ahead at church. He also collected this information for you. LW is a valuable project for my family and me. Undoubtedly, the feeding program has blessed us greatly with medicine and Christmas gifts. My father’s name is Jaime Mendez. He is 52 years old, and he works as a bus driver and farms the land. My mother, Sebastiana Ruiz, works hard at home. She is 44 years old, and besides doing the chores, she makes morrales (these are typical bags made of wool) to sell. Fortunately, my parents are doing well. We have pigs, hens, and cows at home. To get extra income, we grow beans, corn, peaches, and plums to sell.

I am twenty-six years old, and I help my mother to make morrales. I also help to look after the sheep and do the chores. I would like to dedicate my time to doing another thing. For example, tending my own grocery store. I like Christmas because it is a lovely time that reminds me of the birthday of Jesus. If I could learn a new language like English, I would like to try it. My birthday is in December; I love celebrating it with my family. My favorite drink is Coca-Cola. I wonder what is yours? I say goodbye to you now, but I hope to hear about your life and your answer soon. May God bless you!

From the bottom of my heart,

Brenda Leticia Mendez Ruiz
