My Story

My full name is Angel Fernando Fuentes Guzman, and I fondly greet you. I hope you are having a good day alongside your loved ones. I am 16 years old and I have attended the feeding program for about twelve years. My family and I are so happy and grateful for all the support we have received through LW-Adopt A Child. My mother told me that she used to go to the feeding program when she was a child. She remembers that someone sent her a beautiful doll as a Christmas gift. They were not her sponsors, but they just wanted to bless her. That lovely gesture allowed my mother to have a special moment. Today, she is a hardworking woman who does her best to bring food home, although it has been challenging due to the inflation. She usually earns Q50=$9 by working as a housekeeper half a day or sometimes the whole day.

On the other hand, my father is in charge of covering the household expenses and other needs with the money that he earns as a security guard. Please pray for my mother. She has diabetes and suffers from low blood pressure (hypotension). She is under treatment and goes for checkups to the public clinic. About me, let me tell you that I am in 9th grade and I like cold weather. I usually do the dishes to help my mother with the chores. I like working on vacation because I can earn a little money to help my parents. Last year, I worked by delivering chairs and I could buy a few school supplies for this year. Regarding my health, I have vision problems and need glasses. Therefore, I kindly ask you to pray for me. It is almost time to say goodbye, but I tell you that brother Juan Carlos (a member of the LW staff) shared the gospel and encouraged us to build a solid relationship with God by attending a church again since we no longer do it.
