My Story

This is Abner Eliseo Perez Barrera. I am so glad to say hello to you through this. I am now fourteen years old. This year I am in seventh grade, and I am taking face-to-face and online classes. I hand in my homework at school every week. I use WhatsApp to ask my doubts to the teacher, especially when I have not understood topics or homework. For that reason, I still use internet on the cellphone. This study method has been difficult to me. I do not have my classmates’ help, neither understanding from them, so I have got poor grades. The thing I have missed from attending to the feeding program is, having fun, seeing more children and having delicious food they used to prepare for us. For me to get to the program, it takes twenty minutes by walking. Alfonso Danilo, is my father’s name. He lives with us, and works as a mason assistant. Thanks to what he does, he provides for our household expenses. Alma Alondra, is my mother. She lives with us. She takes care of a patient, what she does to earn a living. With it, she helps economically at home. For us to have fun or spend time together, we go to the park, or go for a walk. We enjoy having this time as a family. Christmas is like a normal day to us. Our parents try to make us, their children, happy on this day! We are attending to Mountain of Holiness Church. It is located an hour from home by walking. I want you to know, we got sad by the time the church was closed because of the pandemic, for we could not get together with our brethren.

We do own a house of two rooms. We cook the meals within one room. The house is made of cement block, tin sheets and wooden boards. It has tin sheet roof and concrete floor. It has electricity and running water. The house needs changes on the walls and floor. As my mother’s previous work was selling in the street, she did not have sales along the pandemic. Let me tell you that, the grocery bags we received from Living Water on that time, was very helpful and blessing to us. They contained all the essential for us to have food. Through this, I want to show my gratitude for that love expression! My family and I are healthy, thankfully. Now, I want to ask you to please pray for us, for food, school supplies and clothing are a greatest need at home. Thank you! Lastly, I want to tell you that my mother provided updated information about me to one member from the Evangelism team, who visited us at home. I say good bye to you for now.

Lots of blessings,

Abner Eliseo Perez Barrera
