My Story

Hello! I greet you in the name of Jesus, and I hope you are doing fine. I want to share with you some news about my family and me. My name is Edwin Eduardo Gomez De La Cruz and my age is 14 years old. This year I no longer attend school, and last year I passed 6^th grade. At the moment I am helping my father with crops, and sometimes I work doing farming for others in order to help my family. My native language is Maya Quiche, but I would like to learn English; I think it is a very interesting language in the modern world. When I grow up, I want to become a musician, and I would like to play the drums. My favorite season of the year is winter because I love the rain and the cold weather. Among sports, I prefer to play soccer. Pineapple juice is what I prefer to drink. What I like to have for my birthday is a delicious cake and special lunch. I want to let you know that all my family and I are in good health. At the moment, we are still attending the Catholic church every Monday. Thanks to the Living Water evangelism team who shared the gospel with us. 

My mother`s name is Gregoria De La Cruz, and she is 55 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home, she embroiders typical blouses to sell and get some income. In addition, she raises hens, turkeys, and pigs, and she sells them when we have an economic need. We grow corn and black beans for our family’s consumption.  My father`s name is Esteban Gomez and he is 61 years old. Nowadays, he continues working as a farmer and day laborer in order to support us. As a family, we are grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at year`s end. We are a humble family, so our current needs are corn and groceries. Every blessing to you!
