My Story

Hello! It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus and hope you are doing fine. I want to share a little about my family and me in this opportunity. My mother`s name is Santos Benito Ruiz. She is 34 years old. Nowadays, she continues doing chores at home and taking care of the family. My father`s name is Santos Morente Alvarado. He is 34 years old. At the moment, he continues working as a day laborer in order to support the family. In addition, he grows corn and black beans for our family`s consumption.  As a humble family, our current needs are corn, groceries, and clothes. At the moment, we continue attending the Church of Christ every Tuesday and Sunday. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with my mother and for their encouraging words to us during the visit. As a family, we are sure of our salvation in Jesus.  By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

I am Juana Morente Benito. I am 14 years old.  This year I am in 4th grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes every day. I am learning a lot with this study method and spending more time with my classmates. Nowadays, my father is making an effort to support my siblings and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive. Sometimes, it is very difficult for them to cover every school expense. My dream is to have my own farm someday. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, and so I would like to learn Spanish in order to have good communication with others. My favorite season of the year is winter because I think rain is essential for our crops. I like to drink fruit juices and “mosh” (a hot beverage made of oatmeal). What I like for my birthday is to have delicious food for lunch and some gifts. Among sports, I like to play soccer. My family is grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that you sent to me at the end of the year through LW.  May God bless you greatly!

Warm wishes,

Juana Morente Benito
