A Priority Project We Want to Share

We'd like to share a current priority project with you. It’s not a flashy project but it has a very real, daily impact on life and ministry in Chixocol.

From November through April, Chixocol is extremely dry. Dust fills the air and settles on everything, including children, vehicles and even inside our main building where the kitchen is located. These conditions affect health, cleanliness, and the simple rhythms of daily life for the kids and staff we serve.

When the rain returns, so does the mud. In fact, Chixocol literally means “place of mud” in the Mayan language.

This constant cycle creates ongoing challenges for transportation and ministry operations.

An Open Door & A Wise Opportunity

We’ve been able to engage local government authorities and negotiate a very favorable budget for this project. Living Water will contract the same local workers currently building the road, meaning we won’t be involved in the construction process ourselves—but we will see long-term benefits for the community and our ministry.
 

Total Cost for This Project is $30,000

This isn’t the kind of project that grabs attention—but it protects health, improves daily conditions, and supports the sustainability of ministry in Chixocol.
