Pastor Lefter Biba
Under communism, my parents worked on a farm, and we didn't have much food or clothing. It was hard. Things changed a bit when communism fell and we could go to Greece to work. It was still hard, but at least we had food. I never thought much about God. My purpose in life was family and work. My father told me that work brings honor, so that is what I focused on.
One day some people came and asked to buy part of my land so they could build a center for children. The land was right next to my house, so I decided to sell, hoping I could also work there. I started working as a guard and doing maintenance. Throughout the year, many foreigners came and they all loved me and told me about Jesus and His love for us. They told me that eternal life is a gift that comes through Jesus Christ. I decided to read the Bible and asked the staff where to start. They told me to start with the Gospels, and if I had questions, they would help. Years went by, I grew in faith and got baptized. My passion for God took me from guard to evangelist. God gave me a heart for the lost and empowered me through good leadership and biblical education.
We serve the Lord with our gifts, time and testimony. Everything I have asked God He has answered me. I'm a new pastor, but not a new believer. I can see the plan God has for our region, and I hope that in the coming years, we will see more leaders and more churches in the surrounding villages planted and strengthened in the Word of God. I live in a predominantly Muslim area but I’m not afraid. God took a lost man and turned me into a leader. He will change these places—these countries—and I will be His instrument. I know now that I’m not alone, but your prayers and support encourage my walk every day as I say, "Here I am Lord. Send me."
