Pastor Jose Martin Chom

I was born in Zacualpa, Quiche, and was registered in the Chixocol feeding program in 1987. I enjoyed eating the delicious food and attending the Bible classes. During one class in 1993, when I was almost 10 years old, I accepted Jesus as my savior. I always loved the way the teachers taught their Bible classes, and I wanted to be like them. That opportunity came in 2001 when I joined the evangelism team as a collaborator.

I had the privilege of studying despite great economic difficulty, and I graduated with a "Bachiller en Ciencias y Letras" (Technician Degree in Sciences and Arts) in Zacualpa town. Some years later, Living Water leaders offered me and my wife a scholarship to earn a Diploma in Youth Specialties at the Institute of Youth Specialties in Guatemala City. I also had the opportunity to earn a technician degree in Biblical Studies and Practical Theology at the ASELSI, Chichicastenango town.

I was ordained as a pastor in 2019. Today, my wife Gregoria, our daughter Darleth, and I are part of the leadership of Liberty Church in Chixocol where I help lead services and preach.
